Spring Squares, Desserts et collations
  • For 9 squares.
  • Use 9”x9” pan, well greased.
  • Ingredients

    Biscuit:

    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
    • 1 cup of whole wheat flour

    Topping:

    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup maple syrup
    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • 1/4 cup of softened butter (at room temperature)
    • Pinch of salt
    • 1/2 cup minced walnuts
    • 1/2 cup minced almonds
    • 3 tbsp. flour

    Preparation

    For the biscuit: Mix all the ingredients well and form into a ball.

    1. Press the ball of dough with your hand into a well-greased pan.
    2. Bake in the oven for 8 minutes at 350°F. It will be half-cooked.
    3. For the topping: Bring the brown sugar and maple syrup to a boil in a pot.
    4. Let it simmer for 5 minutes at a low heat. Leave it to cool.
    5. Beat the eggs, then fold them into the syrup, mix and add the rest of the ingredients. Pour over the biscuit.
    6. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes at 350°F.
    7. Let it cool in the pan and then cut it into squares.
