What better way to celebrate summer and hot weather than with a spicy event? Festiv’été is the all-new event that will set the Jean-Talon Market ablaze on Saturday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.!
During this free event, Jean-Talon Market will be hosting 15 companies that specialize in spicy sauces and sides, including artisanal hot sauces, BBQ sauces, kimchi, pickliz and various seasonings. Come discover them and wake up your taste buds!
In addition to the fair, a variety of culinary demonstrations, free of charge and with no registration required, will give you the opportunity to learn more about the vast world of hot and spicy food.
A festive musical atmosphere, a cocktail bar and a hot sauce tasting competition will also warm up the atmosphere.

️🌶 Les Filles Fattoush will have mouhamara, a hot version of bell pepper dip
️🌶 Musubi will create, for the occasion, a spicy tuna onigiri with bok choy and Kumkuat hot sauce by La Pimenterie
️🌶 Mazorca will prepare spicy Caribbean jerk chicken tacos
️🌶 Casa will prepare spicy poutine
🌶 Panda Restaurant will prepare their general tao rice with hot sauces and some spicy takoyaki
🎤 From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: culinary demonstrations will reveal the secrets of creating spicy accompaniments and condiments
🎤 From 2 to 6 p.m. : groovy beats of DJ Cidoine will keep the atmosphere festive
🎤 From 4 to 5 p.m : some brave individuals will vie for the title of spice champion in a hot-sauce tasting competition !

No pepper-focused event would be complete without a hot-sauce tasting competition!
Join us at 4 p.m. in the Jean-Talon Market’s event zone for a lively competition in which several brave competitors facing off for the title of spice champ as they sample the hottest sauces made in Quebec. Hosted by Michel Kunta, the competition will be a must during this spicy day !
Participants will have to eat seven chicken or vegetarian nuggets soaked in hot-sauces, from least to most hot on the Scoville scale. Next, participants still in the race must eat, as quickly as possible, 3 chicken or vegetarian nuggets soaked in the hottest sauces. Prizes will be awarded to the three fastest participants.
