The Atwater Market invites you to celebrate this unique time of year, the harvest season, with “La Fête des Récoltes” on September 10 from 10am to 5pm.
On the program: a host of activities showcasing delicious local produce will appeal to visitors and families alike. Demonstrations by local experts will introduce you to a host of subjects, products and recipes, a corn-husking session will showcase the most delicious corn, quizzes and rallies will take you around the market asking you questions about the fruits and vegetables of the harvest, and family and musical entertainment will enliven the event.
There’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy the expertise of local producers!
Free culinary demonstrations
Tomato and black garlic salad
11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Presented by our merchant Aux trouvailles de Fanny, this demonstration will enable you to recreate a delicious salad made with tomato shoots and black garlic. If you’re familiar with Aux trouvailles de Fanny, you’ll know that we’re always discovering new products, and this salad is sure to please you!
Live cooking is good for you! by Au Septième micro-pousse
1:30 pm to 2 pm
Market stalls are brimming with fresh produce. One way to work with them and respect the produce is to cook it raw. Let Cynthia Olivera from Au Septième micro-pousse introduce you to raw cuisine with a seasonal pumpkin salad.
Beefsteak tomato salad
2:30 pm to 3 pm
Raphaël Légaré of Satay Brothers presents you a recipe that showcases beefsteak tomatoes. Not just delicious to look at, beefsteak tomatoes are succulent, especially when they’re in season. A great opportunity to learn from one of Montreal’s most beloved restaurants.
Making homemade hot sauce
3:30 pm to 4 pm
Annie Lacombe of Aylwin BBQ will share her secrets for making your own hot sauce at home. The perfect opportunity to become a real chef, thanks to the abundance of hot peppers available at the market!
Come and taste the products!
A harvest event wouldn’t be complete without the opportunity to sample produce all day long!
A big corn roast
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The first 600 to arrive will be able to devour free corn from our merchant Jardins des Meuniers. Satay Brothers will be preparing the cobs for our taste buds! An opportunity not to be missed to discover the Atwater Market’s corn producer!
Your favorite vendors
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The expertise of our fruits and vegetables is well established, so all we have to do now is make sure we get a chance to taste them before the cooler weather arrives. Atwater Market vendors will have their stalls full of delicious produce of all kinds.
Family entertainment
There’s plenty to keep young and old alike entertained!
Inflatable games, quiz and rally
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Inflatable games will be set up on site to keep the little ones entertained all day long. The Atwater Market is also offering a Harvest Rally quiz, where participants will go around the market to discover activities or clues. Participants will have a chance to win a $250 gift certificate from Marchés publics de Montréal.
DJ Mathieu Beauchemin
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Who better to set the mood and get us dancing than Mathieu Beauchemin? A regular at Atwater Market events, he’ll once again be the perfect accompaniment to your day of activities.
Folies Potagères
Between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Madame de la Courge and Monsieur Cornichon, clownesque characters on stilts, will impress young and old alike as they entertain in the market between 11 am and 1:30 pm. Not to be missed!
Face painting for kids
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Your kids will be thrilled by the option of dressing up as different people, thanks to our three make-up artists. Let their imaginations run wild!
C’est moi le Chef! workshops
1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
C’est moi le chef! wants to accompany children and gradually give them the taste and power of cooking and eating well and offers your little chefs from the age of 3 the chance to learn to cook and eat well while having fun.

Montreal Bluegrass Duo
2 pm to 4 pm
To liven up the festivities, Montréal Bluegrass Duo will present two 45-minute shows between 2 and 4 pm. This duo of banjo, guitar and vocals is sure to please your ears!
