Jean Talon Market hosts Ferment Fest MTL
On September 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Jean Talon Market will host the second edition of Ferment Fest Montréal. Presented in collaboration with Jean Talon Market and Tout Cru, Ferment Fest Montréal is Quebec’s first food festival devoted to fermentation.
Finally returning after a two-year hiatus, the event will make a strong comeback with a day of talks, tastings and local products to discover and sample. Free admission will allow aficionados, experts and the curious to experience the joys of fermentation in a festive setting where experimentation is encouraged.
In addition to being used for making the ever-popular kimchi, the fermentation process is used for making artisanal products such as spontaneously fermented saucisson, bread and cheese, cider, beer, kombucha and tempeh.
