All press releases Montreal's Public Markets seek new merchants for the 2021 season

Montreal, March 10, 2021 – Montreal’s public Markets are launching a new targeted recruitment effort aimed at local restaurant and food processing businesses. There are currently five rental opportunities at Jean-Talon and Atwater markets. Complete details can be found at https://www.marchespublics-mtl.com/en/2021-call-for-applicants/.

JEAN-TALON MARKET: SATISFYING MONTREAL’S HUNGER
An indoor, 590 sq. ft. space with terrasse on Place du Marché-du-Nord is available immediately, ready to accommodate a new restaurant or ready-to-eat concept. Other opportunities will be announced soon via the markets’ social media presence. There is still time for agricultural businesses to submit proposals via the public markets’ website.

With 2.5 million visitors annually, Jean-Talon Market enjoys a worldwide reputation as an essential destination for market cuisine and locally grown ingredients. The market, which will soon mark its centennial, is justly known as the heart of Montreal’s culinary scene.

ATWATER MARKET: FAST FOOD BY LOCAL COMPANIES
Four fast-food stands, with or without on-site cooking, are available in Atwater Market’s outdoor food court. This is an opportunity to join an innovative community of restaurateurs who spend the summer outdoors making the market the city’s best place to grab a bite.
Atwater Market, located next to the Lachine Canal and its bike path, serves Little Burgundy, Saint-Henri, Westmount and Griffintown. It is a vibrant, colourful market, reflecting the surrounding neighbourhoods. It is also a popular destination for visitors.

About Montreal’s Public Markets

Founded in 1993, the Corporation for the Management of Montréal’s Public Markets is a non-profit organization that manages and develops the major public markets in the Montreal area – Jean-Talon, Atwater and Maisonneuve – and some ten Neighborhood and Solidarity Markets. Its objective is to ensure that Montrealers have access to local products as diverse as they are in markets that are at the heart of their community.
