Our 2022 event program

All press releases Our 2022 event program

Montreal, July 13, 2022 – The Corporation de gestion des Marchés publics de Montréal is delighted to announce its summer event program for the city’s large public markets.

Several events and activities are planned for the markets for the rest of this year. Among other things, the diverse program includes culinary and family events with samples and new products, guest chefs, a local wine and cider show, evening cocktails featuring local culinary creations, and several events presented in partnership with other agri-food organizations. The aim of this program is to enhance the already excellent market experience and to provide a showcase for local farmers and processors. It is made possible by the support of the Ville de Montréal.

#JeMangeMTL events
Atwater Market will present evening events from 5 to 9 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month from July through September. On the menu: good food, promotions, special menus and music.
The first event in the series will take place on Thursday, July 14, with a DJ providing the musical ambiance.

#JeMangeMTL at Atwater Market: three Thursdays: July 14, August 11 and September 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the food service area (north side).

The same food-focused events are also on the program at Jean Talon Market, from 3 to 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month from July to September. It’s a great opportunity to discover the many new restaurateurs who have set up at the market this year.

#JeMangeMTL at Jean Talon Market: three Thursdays: July 21, August 18 and September 15 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the food service area on the north side of the market.

Maisonneuve Market summer markets
The first Maisonneuve summer market will have a great block party vibe, with a dozen stalls featuring processors, agri-food artisans, a microbrewery and a microdistillery. Several family activities are scheduled: story time, carnival games and inflatable toys will be set up on Place Gennevilliers-Laliberté. A DJ will provide the musical backdrop throughout the day.

Maisonneuve summer markets: three Saturdays: July 16, August 20 and September 17 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Maisonneuve Market.

Locavore events
Several other food-centric and festive events are in the works to energize the markets year-round. Here’s a preview:

Jean-Talon Market will host a local wine and cider fair, the Foire des vins et cidres d’ici! on August 13 in partnership with the Conseil des vins du Québec. This event will give wine lovers the chance to sample wines and ciders not sold at the SAQ, and to stock up on some excellent bottles.

In September at Jean Talon and Atwater markets, gourmands will be invited to participate in Oui chef!, a series of market discovery tours with local chefs who will share their favourite harvest-season stops. Participants will be immersed in the everyday life of a chef who will show them their favourite market vendors.

Other events, including Octoberfest and Christmas Markets will be held later in the year.

All events and their details will be announced soon via the public markets’ website, newsletter and social media feeds.
