Pie baking contest
What better way to showcase the fruits and vegetables from our markets than with a delicious homemade pie? With this in mind, the Marchés publics de Montréal invites you to participate in its first best pie competition, which will take place on Saturday, September 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Get out your aprons and rolling pins! Registration for the competition will open very soon.
Would you rather eat pies than bake them? Perfect! We've got you covered, because it's you, the public, who will determine who baked the best pie.
How does the competition work?
For participants:
- Registration is open until August 20.
- Ten participants will be selected.
- Bring two servings of your pie for visitors to taste. They will be the judges.
Prizes:
The grand prize winner of the best pie will receive:
- The trophy for the best pie
- A $150 gift card from the Marchés publics de Montréal
- A bag from the Marchés publics de Montréal
The awards ceremony will take place from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m.
For visitors:
You will be our valued judges! Come to the event area between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to taste the participants' pies and vote.
Two criterias will be taken into consideration:
- Taste (that's what matters most, after all!)
- Presentation
- Creativity
The awards ceremony will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
