Fermentation Workshop: Discover Haitian Pikliz

The Jean-Talon Market invites you to take part in a free workshop on Haitian Pikliz fermentation.

During this one-hour workshop led by Ferment, you’ll discover pikliz, the iconic fermented Haitian condiment known for its bold, crunchy, and vibrant flavors. Participants will learn the fundamentals of lacto-fermentation and explore the process of making this traditional condiment. Two jars of pikliz will be provided during each workshop.

This colourful and flavourful workshop is a great opportunity to explore a rich culinary tradition and discover how fermented foods can be incorporated into everyday cooking.

Ferment is a Montréal-based shop specializing in artisanal fermentation in all its forms. In addition to offering specialized products, the team regularly hosts workshops to share fermentation knowledge with both beginners and enthusiasts. Their approach is friendly, accessible, and rooted in the joy of discovering sustainable and local food practices.

Two one-hour sessions are available:

• 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

• 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
