Ingredients

  • Half a bone-in ham (shoulder or buttock)
  • 1 beer or 1 ½ cups 7up
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup molasses
  • 2 tsp black pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  2. Place the ham in an oven-safe dish and add the beer or 7up.
  3. Pour the maple syrup on the ham, followed by the molasses.
  4. Cover well and cook in the oven for 3 hours.
  5. Use a fork to check the cooking status : the meat should detach from the bone.
  6. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
