Tomato puff pastry tart, everything bagel style

A quick recipe, perfect for brunch with friends or a quick aperitif! Tomatoes are at their best right now, so come and enjoy them!

Ingredients

  • 1 package store-bought puff pastry
  • 1 egg, for glazing
  • Approximately 150g softened cream cheese
  • 3 to 4 heirloom tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic, onion, salt, etc.)
  • 1 tablespoon capers
  • Fleur de sel, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Fresh herbs: oregano, to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Prick the dough with a fork, brush with egg, then sprinkle the entire surface with everything bagel seasoning.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and crispy. Leave to cool for a few minutes.
  5. Spread the cream cheese on the pastry while it is still warm.
  6. Arrange the tomato slices, alternating colors.
  7. Add the capers, herbs, a twist of freshly ground pepper, and a little fleur de sel.
