Little monster burgers

Entertain the little gourmets with these little monster burgers! A fun, easy recipe that's perfect for cooking with the whole family using local produce.
Ingredients
For the meatballs
- 250g ground beef
- 250g minced pork OR veal
- 30g grated white cheddar (you can also use Parmesan)
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons (50 ml) ricotta or crème fraîche
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chopped basil
- 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise
- 2 pinches of curry powder
For the sauce
- 250g tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise
- 1 sprig of fresh thyme
- 1 chopped garlic clove (remove the germ first)
Decoration and accompanying
- 100 to 200g (one block) of cheddar or mozzarella cheese (for the little monsters' teeth)
- 8 pitted green olives with chilli filling and 8 toothpicks (for the eyes)
- Slices of sweet potato (to accompany)
- 4 brioche buns or burger buns of your choice (to serve)
Preparation
For the meatballs and sauce :
- Mix all the ingredients for the dumplings by hand in a bowl.
- Form 8 to 10 patties (2 per burger)
- In a frying pan with a little olive oil or butter, cook over a medium heat.
- Halfway through cooking, when the meatballs are golden brown, add the tomato sauce and baste regularly. Finish cooking over a low heat until the sauce is reduced.
To decorate the little monsters:
- Cut the cheese into 8-10 triangles to make the teeth (thickness of your choice).
- Cut the olives into thick slices.
For assembly :
- Toast the burger buns (optional).
- Place the sauce and meatballs on the bottom bun.
- Prick the olives, then pierce the top bun of the burger and add the triangle cheese on the bottom of the toothpick. Place on top of the meatballs.
- For the side dish: slice the sweet potatoes, season to taste and bake for 20 minutes at 300F.
