What is a crop of maple syrup
Every spring, when temperatures fluctuate between freezing and thawing, the sap from the maple trees begins to flow, and it’s time for a new crop of maple syrup, the Quebec local treasure that everyone awaits so eagerly.
To celebrate this time of year, the Montreal Public Markets have been organizing major festivities since 2022 to showcase the world-renowned expertise of our maple syrup producers! These urban sugar shacks, which come to life for a day in each of our major markets, are an opportunity for many to discover the world of maple without leaving the city.
This event is made possible thanks to the financial participation of the City of Montréal.
