For 30 years, the 9 founding families of L'Ancêtre have placed animal welfare at the heart of their values. Their grass-fed cows enjoy pasture as soon as the weather permits, get plenty of exercise and live healthier, longer lives. By applying organic practices, including regenerative farming and cultivation without pesticides or synthetic chemical fertilisers, they ensure the health of the soil, water and biodiversity. These same practices capture and store carbon in the soil, helping to limit greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change. These are all conditions for producing high-quality, more nutritious and better-balanced milk, which we find in our organic cheeses and butters.
