Montreal's public markets take another step forward! For the first time this year, food processors will be able to rent a one-day site at the Atwater and Jean-Talon Markets! A new rental opportunity that enriches the offer for customers and provides an additional showcase for local artisans.

But what is a food processor? They're creative artisans who transform Quebec ingredients to create unique products: artisan jams, hot sauces, flavored oils, frozen meals, fermented condiments and much more! These companies take local products and transform them with passion and expertise.

Public market sales, more relevant than ever!

These locations for processors represent a new opportunity for companies to market their products and introduce them to new customers. What sets them apart from other sales opportunities is that they are marketed directly. In other words, the company sells its products without an intermediary, without a website. They can establish personal contact with their customers.

A $25 rent reduction will be offered to current and future Aliments du Québec members. The aim of this partnership is to support processing companies while meeting the demands of a growing number of customers looking above all for local products.

To take advantage of the discount, first reserve your space, then the amount will be adjusted retroactively as soon as your membership is validated.

Nine tents are available for rent from now until October, from Thursday to Sunday, in these two iconic markets on the Montreal food scene.

Requirements for participation

• Be a Quebec-based company selling products processed in Quebec using mainly Quebec ingredients.
• Only sell your company's products
• Not be selling any processed products for on-site consumption
• Hold a retail sales permit issued by MAPAQ
• Hold a liability insurance 
   

Sales calendar

• Atwater Market: June 14 to October 26, Thursday to Sunday
• Jean-Talon Market: June 14 to October 12, Thursday to Sunday

Equipment and services included with tent rental:

• 1 tent 10' x 10
• 2 rectangular tables 6' x 2.5
• Electricity

Rates

• 75 plus taxes per day. Aliments du Québec supports local companies and products by offering a $25 rent reduction to active members and to companies wishing to join by October 1, 2025.
