Poissonnerie La Mer

Poissonnerie La Mer is an iconic Montreal business that has always made it its mission to offer the public the most diverse possible selection of fresh fish and seafood. In 1968, the Katsoulis family opened its first shop, the Van Horne Fish Market, on the west side of Montreal. The founder, Mr. Kosta, was the first to ship fresh products from the east coast of Canada and the United States and the Great Lakes directly to Montreal. In 1976 the family opened La Mer, an incredible hub for all things fish and seafood, with a store open to the public, an acclaimed restaurant and a wholesale division supplying Montreal’s finest restaurants. Building on more than 50 years of expertise, the third generation of the family is now expanding Poissonnerie La Mer with the opening of an all-new location in Maisonneuve Market.
