New rate for Atwater Market parking lots

We’d like to inform you that, as of Wednesday, December 4, the Atwater Market parking lots will be charged at the same rates and times as the area’s parking meters.
We know that this may represent a change of habit for many of you, and we’ve prepared this comprehensive guide to help you plan your next visit to the market.
Why the new rates?
Parking rates are a contractual commitment in our new lease with the City of Montreal. Our NPO is committed to this, and the funds generated by this initiative will be reinvested directly in the Atwater Market, to improve our services and infrastructure to serve you better.
What are the rates and opening hours?
The rates applied will be the same as those for parking meters in the area, with the addition of a 15-minute free option:
- 15 minutes free
- 1 hour for $2.25
- 2 hours for $4.50
Fare schedules will be the same as for parking meters in the area, i.e.:
- Monday to Friday: 9am to 9pm
- Saturday: 9 am to 6 pm
- Sunday: 1pm to 6pm
When will this pricing system be introduced?
Starting Wednesday, December 4, 2025
How do I pay?
You can pay for your parking time in two ways:
- By cell phone, using QR codes that will be displayed in the parking lots.
- At pay stations located inside the market, accepting payment in cash or by card.
When paying, you’ll need to register your license plate.
For all payment-related questions, please contact: 514-875-5626 option 0.
Do I have to register for the free 15-minute option?
Yes, you need to register to get the 15 minutes free option during tariff periods. You are invited to use the QR code payment system, which is the most efficient way to pay for this option.
Can the municipal parking meter application be used to pay for parking at the Atwater Market?
No, payments will have to be made using the Atwater Market’s dedicated payment methods, i.e. QR code scanning or our payment kiosks located inside the Market. The municipal parking meter application cannot be used. Please note that we are working on this pricing with Impark, a company specialized in parking management.
Are discounted monthly packages available to customers?
For the time being, the only monthly packages available are reserved for merchants and their employees. You will be informed if monthly packages become available to the public and their prices.
Is there a time limit for using paid parking lots?
Yes, there will be a 2-hour maximum time limit for both paid and unpaid parking.
Can I park overnight at the Atwater Market?
No, parking is prohibited between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Will the rate be applied to all Atwater Market parking lots?
Yes, all parking lots at the Atwater Market will be charged as of November 14.

Is the Atwater Market the only public market in Montreal with paid parking lots?
No, the Marché Jean-Talon introduced paid parking lots several years ago.
Thank you for choosing the Atwater Market.
