Did you know? The Jean-Talon and Atwater markets are open all year round, thanks to the installation of removable walls during the colder winter months. The markets’ winter mode allows everyone to enjoy their markets while staying warm.

Every October, the winter walls are installed over a five-day period. It’s time to refresh the stalls after a superb summer season!

In 2024, the walls will be installed on the following dates:

• At Marché Jean-Talon from Monday, October 21 to Friday 25.
• At Atwater Market from Monday, October 28 to Friday, November 1.

While our markets are putting on their skins, the stores will remain accessible, and our less chilly merchants will still be outside. So there’s still time to visit them and stock up on fresh produce.

Each kiosk will be given a winter makeover, with a thorough cleaning and a good lick of paint. This metamorphosis involves a lot of work for our merchants, who have to dismantle their booths completely and, a few days later, set them up again. Some of them move from outside to inside, while others leave us for next year. These winter walls ensure that you can enjoy your favorite market year-round, and in the warm.
