What is Sugar Time
Every spring, when temperatures fluctuate between freezing and thawing, the sap from the maple trees flows and it's time for the new harvest of maple syrup, the pride of Quebec that everyone looks forward to.
To celebrate this time of year, since 2022, the Montreal Public Markets have been organizing major festivities to showcase the world-renowned expertise of our artisan maple syrup producers! These urban sugar shacks that come to life for a day in each of our major markets are an opportunity for many to discover the world of maple without leaving the city.
This event is made possible thanks to the financial participation of the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough and the City of Montreal.
