The Foires des vins et cidres d'ici at Jean-Talon Market

Wine and cider lovers, the Foire des vins et cidres d'ici is back at last! For this third edition at Jean-Talon Market, look forward to an enriched program full of new features to celebrate local wines and ciders.
On Saturday August 10 and Sunday August 11, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., come and taste products from some 15 Quebec wineries and cider mills. You'll also have the chance to feast your eyes on the delicious culinary experience presented by chef Clément Boivin's Cuisine Libre! team, and attend educational workshops by sommelier Kristine Mansuy. DJs will be on hand throughout the weekend to set the musical mood.
Admission to the event is free, and a tasting glass costs $3.50. Tastings cost from $1 to $5, at the discretion of the wineries and cideries.
Two gourmet pairing workshops
The Fair will be an opportunity to learn more about local wines and ciders through two workshops offered by renowned sommelier Kristine Mansuy. The first workshop will be devoted to local ciders, and the second to local wines. These workshops will enable you to learn more about the innovations of Quebec producers and the different grape varieties. You'll then be able to appreciate the different products on the market with more nuance, and impress your friends and family with your new knowledge.
Cider discovery workshop
This workshop is an opportunity to discover the different styles of cider and apple varieties unique to Quebec. The notions of pairing will also be explored through the tasting of appetizers and four ciders specially selected for the workshop. On tasting: Clos Saragnat, La Capsule temporelle, Domaine le Grand St-Charles and Cidre Intrus.
The Wine Discovery Workshop
The workshop invites participants to discover the particularities of hybrid grape varieties and the typicity of Quebec terroirs through the tasting of a selection of four wines. Delicious appetizers will also be served to introduce wine and appetizer pairings. For tasting: Les Bacchantes, Domaine Léon Courville, Vignoble Val Caudalies and Domaine Beauchemin.
More details:
- 8 workshops between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
- 45 minutes of tasting and 15 minutes of questions
- Conference room, 2nd floor of Marché Jean-Talon
