Market life

The terraces at Jean-Talon Market and Atwater Market open this weekend, on Saturday, May 2. Like every year, they'll welcome a host of restaurateurs ready to treat you all summer long, while inside the markets a deliciously renewed food offer awaits you.

To help you make the most of it, here's everything you need to know!

What to eat At the Jean-Talon Market

Every year, the Resto Zone at Jean-Talon Market welcomes a dozen restaurateurs and food counters ready to delight visitors. Numerous picnic tables are available for you to enjoy your meal in comfort.

Come and discover the flavours offered by Bouffe-moi!, Casa Poutine, La boîte aux Huîtres, La Crêperie du Marché, Le coin santé, Les Filles Fattoush, Loumi, Mangue et Melon, Mazorca MTL, Panda Restaurant and Roxy Focaccia. All these establishments are eager to welcome back their loyal clientele as soon as the warm weather returns.

For those with a sweet tooth, there are several merchants throughout the market to satisfy your cravings. Near the rue Henri-Julien entrance, you'll find the inevitable sweet trio: La Fournée des Sucreries de l'Érable, Pâtisserie polonaise Wawel and Ryad. A little further on, you'll discover delicious whole-fruit tarts from Création Madeleine, artisanal viennoiseries from Brûlerie aux Quatre-vents, refreshing ice creams from Havre-aux-glaces and apple slushes from our local producers.

Inside the market, several merchants will also be offering you options to enjoy on the spot. These include Balkani with its famous sauerkraut hot dog, Gourmand d'ici and its tasty samosas, Première Moisson, Aqua Mare, Sushi Shop and Marché des Saveurs du Québec

What to eat at the Atwater Market

At the Atwater Market, the Pôle des Saveurs is the meeting point par excellence for the southwest of the island: the ideal terrace for sharing a good time. Enjoy your meal in comfort under the large shelter.

Aylwin Barbecue, Falafel Yoni, Le Petit Sao, Satay Brothers and Layla's, all back for another year, will welcome you with a range of tasty and varied dishes. For hot days, there's nothing better than ice cream from Ca Lem and juices from Margot Bar à jus, while sweet tooths can indulge in tasty, colorful doughnuts from Léché Dessert or a variety of products from Ave Greene. For many restaurateurs, the opening of the Pôle des Saveurs marks the long-awaited return of loyal and enthusiastic customers. Some have even been sharing their passion for flavours and cuisine for over a decade!

Inside the Market, you'll also find an extensive food offering, including sandwiches from Première Moisson, pizza from Pizza Mia, Sushi Shop, coffees from Brûlerie aux Quatre-Vents and treats from Les Douceurs du Marché.
