Mom's Meatball Stew

The best meatball stew recipe!

Ingredients

Meatball Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup minced onions
  • 1/4 tbsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 lightly beaten egg

 

Sauce Ingredients
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup tomato ketchup
  • 3/4 cup chili sauce
  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 to 2 drops Tabasco
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Preparation

Meatball Preparation
  • Mix all ingredients thoroughly.
  • Form meatballs about 3 cm in size.

 

Sauce Preparation
  • Combine all ingredients and bring to a boil.
  • Place the meatballs in a baking dish.
  • Add the sauce to the dish.
  • Place a few onion slices on top.
  • Bake for 1 hour at 350°F.
