Spiced French Toast with Maple Butter Cream

Ingredients
- 4 slices bread
- 60 mL (4 tbsp.) maple sugar
- 2 mL (1/2 tsp.) cinnamon
- 2 mL (1/2 tsp.) nutmeg
- 2 mL (1/2 tsp.) powdered cloves
- 2 eggs
- 200 mL (3/4 cup) milk
- 25 mL (2 tbsp.) butter
- 125 mL (1/2 cup) maple butter
- 250 mL (1 cup) 10% cream
- Maple sugar as garnish
Preparation
- Whisk the maple sugar, eggs, milk and spices together.
- Dip the bread slices into the mixture, heat the butter in a non-stick pan and fry the bread over low heat, 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
- Meanwhile, prepare the maple butter cream by heating the cream and maple butter together until well blended.
- Top the French toast with the maple butter cream and sprinkle with maple sugar just before serving.
