Holiday magic at Marché Jean-Talon
The weekends of 9 and 10, 16 and 17 and 23 December will be particularly festive at Marché Jean-Talon. Visitors can look forward to a rich programme of indoor and outdoor activities. On the programme: festive workshops, meetings with Santa Claus, musical performances, choirs, hot chocolate tastings, and much more. And it’s all free!
Highlights include performances by songwriter Manu Reymond, the ‘Aux quatre vents’ quartet from the Leonardo Da Vinci Wind Band, the street-art duo 2 Parquatte, the Chœur en commun, the Chœur de la Petite Patrie, and other local talent.
There will also be free culinary workshops for young chefs, hosted by C’est moi le chef! and the possibility of creating Christmas decorations to add to the festive atmosphere.
A life-size game around the market is also waiting for families! Santa has lost his reindeers. Can you help him find them?
From1 to 31 December, families can help Santa find his nine reindeer who have got lost in the enchanted forest at Marché Jean-talon. Taking the form of a rally around the market, participants will have to solve nine amusing riddles to find them all. And to share in the festive spirit, rally participants will have a chance to win a $100 gift certificate from the Montreal public Markets each week.
The market would like to thank the City of Montreal, the Borough of Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie, and the SDC Petite-Italie – Marché Jean-Talon for their support in staging these winter festivities.
