The all-new Seasonal Market Guide is here!
Marchés publics de Montréal
Market life

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our all-new Seasonal Guide to Montréal’s Public Markets, a free quarterly publication now available in all your favorite public markets, thanks to the financial support of the Ville de Montréal.

Why 4 guides a year?

Our guide has been designed to follow the natural rhythm of the seasons and the arrivals that mark the life of Montreal’s public markets. By renewing our content each season, we aim to offer you information, thoughts and recipes that are always up-to-date and relevant to the delicious products available from our merchants.

In spring, for example, we celebrate the opening of summer markets and the arrival of horticultural and agricultural producers. It’s also when the first arrivals of the year, such as snow crab, lobster, fiddleheads and asparagus, hit the shelves. It’s also the time when Montrealers start planting their own gardens, creating a special buzz in our markets.

The following guides will also address themes specific to their season. The summer guide will be distinguished by the richness and abundance of fruits and vegetables, and by all the summer events that bring the markets to life. The autumn guide will highlight the art of preserving and processing fresh produce, while the winter guide will focus on the great celebrations of the holiday season, with recipe ideas for local feasts. Each issue will be available free of charge at your local market.

Of course, each issue will also feature important and unique topics that are not specific to a particular season, because that’s what the Montreal Public Markets are all about: discoveries and surprises on every visit.

A host of collaborators and inspiring spring content

This first spring issue was an opportunity to meet a host of contributors and experts who share their knowledge and passion with us.
